NEW GREY COLOR FOR 2021
Start wearing your baby from birth. Just like our baby carriers, we paid special attention to baby’s hip positioning when designing our infant insert. The unique angled pillow base keeps your newborn’s hips in a natural fetal position. Our double padded back panel ensures proper support for baby’s curved spine and our thick head support ensures baby’s head and neck are protected.
Since newborns develop quite differently at the stage, we recommend using the infant insert until baby neck is strong enough to hold up his head (usually around 4 months).

We used the newborn infant insert since around 4 weeks old until he was big enough at 3 months old. We found the insert easy to use and helped support our babys head and back. I would recommend purchasing this if you plan on using it from birth.
Very comfortable and it make feel my newborn protected!
Fantastic product. It’s very comfortable and easy to use. That along with the ability to use it in different ways makes this a great and versatile carrier!
The material is soft and the insert fits very nicely in the carrier. I never use the side snaps as the insert stays very well in place when the carrier is fastened. Once you try it a few times its easy to get the baby into the carrier and she feels really snug and cozy once inside. I also like how the top of the insert can fold down for when she's awake and wants to look around (I just support her head with one hand). The carrier as a whole is exceptionally well made with lots of great features and the insert let us start enjoying the product from the get-go! Since I won't write a second review for the carrier, I will just also say here that we love how the hip belt/seat can be used on its own. Both my husband and I use this part all the time since our daughter started living being carried around facing out... its a real back saver!
I love my hipster and used it all the time with my other children when they were older. With the birth of my third I couldn't wait to use it. However, she was so tiny I looked into the Infant insert. She was born in July so needless to say it was hot. I don't think the fabric provided enough airflow to make sure she didn't overheat. Also, I watched the video over and over again but I just didn't feel like I could ever make it look like the video. I think it may be because the infant in the videos is probably around 3 months and I was trying to use it a smidge sooner than that and she was tiny. So all that to say if your baby was born during the winter months and is on the larger side it will work great! But if you have a tiny summer baby I don't think it's a great option.
