this extender belt is easy to add or remove as needed when myself or my husband uses the carrier. would recommend if you need that extra size!
This carrier has been a life saver for over 2 years now!! It really has been great for my Mom to use with my daughter as it distributes weight perfectly to ease strain on back.. Also a huge thank you to MiaMily to offer an extension belt for this carrier which allows me to have the joy of carrying my daughter -as I am a plus size Lady and this was the ONLY carrier that was inclusive and offered adaptive solutions for all of my families needs!! Thank you MiaMily❤️❤️❤️
I echo the earlier review from Stephanie, who, like me, is grateful to have this as an option — when so many other carriers are shamefully limited in their sizing. But size inclusivity should be standard, and plus-size caregivers should not be financially penalized. Statistically speaking, they are the norm. Consider, for example, that the average size of US women is 16/18. I'm an 18/20 at the moment, and the carrier did not fit. I see on the FAQ that the waist band is designed to fit waists up to 130cm — but the waist band is clearly meant to be worn on the hips, not the waist. (I double checked the instruction video to confirm.) I'd also add that the average size of Black American women is 18/20. I know you've spoken up on your social media platforms about the importance of addressing systemic racism. Exclusionary sizing is very much a part of that. I'm giving this three stars, because I don't want another plus-size parent or caregiver to be dissuaded from buying this carrier/accessory — because our options are so limited as is. But I hope you will consider addressing this as soon as possible. As this very item description says, "Our bodies come in more than one size. So should your carrier."
I'm so glad you have this accessory. I am enjoying using the extender belt. My grandson is very comfortable in it. The only suggestion is when using the extender belt there is no strap like it would without it. Thanks again.
I bought the extender belt because the carrier itself didn’t even get CLOSE to fitting me out of the box. My husband is a very tall and pretty thin man and it barely just fit around his hips. I bought this carrier because it was supposed to be size-friendly (I’m only a size 18, so while I am a big lady I’m not unreasonably large... but I definitely felt that way when I tried to use this carrier and it didn’t even get close to being usable without the extender.) I bought the extender belt, which I think cost $30 plus shipping, which was crazy. When it showed up, it did make it so the carrier fit, and there is now plenty of room to extend it further if I get pregnant again, which is good. I just wish it 1. Wasn’t necessary to buy this, and 2. Wasn’t so expensive. Overall, the extender works, is large/long enough to accommodate most people I would think, and is sturdy and matches the gray color of the carrier perfectly. Am I happy that I had to buy this in order to use this carrier? No. Am I glad that it was available for purchase so the carrier wasn’t totally worthless to me? Yeah, definitely.
